Busy times

Well, I wanted to keep up with my personal blog as much as my Pea of Sweetness site, but it's just been so busy. I'm going to start blogging every day type stuff on there and leave this to the more personal stuff mostly for friends, but I'm leaving it public because who knows who might stumble upon it for a purpose! Yes, there are times I think wow, should I really post this? Then I realize it's life - OUR life. I feel like God has a purpose for everything, and I often feel my purpose is to share our "crazy" life to show others it is OK and He is there! You are not alone! Despite anything and everything that has happened in my life my hope is in Him!

The past two weeks in this house have been far from tame! From my finally getting an appt with my new psychiatrist, preparing for a big expo, Joey's usual Dr appts plus a nerve block a couple days ago (which is still hurting him unfortunately), and my monthly "friend," which I'm pretty sure is blowing up into PMDD again (severe PMS as in I can barely function for 2-3 days), mooselion's IFSP and setting up his therapy, etc. Good times! LOL Seriously, I'm WIPED OUT!

So, that's what's going on! Results of the going ons: Joey is finally getting put into the Med Board. Obviously we've only been here 5 months, but I say "finally" because of the whole incident at Ft Belvoir because we all know it should have been done then! Haha Mooselion starts weekly in-home therapy for his speech delay next week and will be referred for a hearing test (standard, of course) and a sensory evaluation (by my request). So far, everything has gone smoothly!

My appt was OK. I'm kind of "Eh" about my psychiatrist, but he's definitely very intelligent and makes a lot of sense. He is actually decreasing my Wellbutrin with the intent of getting off of it. He said since I went straight from the Zoloft to Wellbutrin I never had a chance to see how I'd do without one, which is true. Of course, I'm all about eliminating medications, so I'm willing to go with this! As far as evaluations for OCD and ADD (though my former psychiatrist did already diagnose me with mild OCD) he said we are going to wait.  Based on my family history of growing up with an alcoholic in a negative environment certain psycho social disorders can appear to be things like depression, OCD, etc., but since it's psycho social it isn't actually these conditions because they are diseases (medical), which is why they're treated with medications. So anyway, I start counseling in a couple weeks, and we go from there. My counselor and my psychiatrist are in the same office, so that is nice plus it's extremely close!

Although he didn't mention it to me in conversation he did send me home with paperwork on Borderline Personality Disorder. I've read it, talked to Joey about it, Googled it, etc. I think another thing I need to do that I'm holding back on is talk to some of my close friends growing up, family members, etc. A lot of it seems extreme, and if you know me now or maybe don't know me extremely well you might think I don't "fit" that diagnosis. If I go back, though, I can definitely say I did - it's why I say I'm grateful God's grace pulled me back to him because I was in a dark place. Although I am no longer in that dark place I can't ignore that I was and that it would definitely fit that diagnosis, and quite a few of the criteria STILL fit me - just not the extreme ones. Since it's already 3am, though, I'm not going to go all in depth, but basically I think it's very possible I have Borderline Personality Disorder. It's almost relieving that I can identify with those feelings and know I'm not the only one! I guess I will continue to learn more and then I'm assuming that's the first thing I'll be discussing with my new counselor! If anybody is extremely familiar with it please let me know!

As for next week things really won't be letting up! Joey has THREE nerve blocks on Monday and mooselion starts his therapy on Thus. But overall, that's not a full schedule for us, so it will probably be an "easy" week! Please pray that his nerve blocks go well and don't cause so much pain this time (they're re-doing the one from this week since it clearly didn't work). They're doing one for his hands which is a risky procedure because he could lose some function in his hands if it goes wrong, so please pray for God's guidance for his doctors on Monday!

Because I have been so stressed lately I know I may not express it enough, but I appreciate all the prayers, love, and support! (And I'm sorry if I've seemed super grouchy!!) <3

Yep

I'm tired and burnt out. That is all.

How is that for a post on my personal blog? haha Short and to the point!

Posting from my iPad

So I got an iPad yesterday, and I love it. This app for blogger stinks, though, because it was only designed for the iPhone not the iPad. It's the same app I use on my Android phone. I guess I probably could just use the Internet on here and post, but I love apps!

So, tomorrow we have mooselion's next evaluation. It was already determined that he has a significant speech delay, and though tomorrow is more of a "paperwork" appointment, it will be the first time the speech therapist meets him, so it's kind of a mini evaluation, too. As far as sensory concerns, we start here and address those later. We're quite familiar with the process!

Another process I'm quite familiar with is getting referrals from Tricare to specialty appointments. The way I had one handled today absolutely floored me! I called to make an appointment for the princess's Developmental Peds, and they asked me when the referral was made. I explained that I had the APPROVAL letter dated Feb 26. Now I know when a referral is put in both parties receive a letter. Sometimes they call you first, but generally I try to call them first because it's faster. I have never been told what they told me - they're only booking January's referrals, so it will be a month until somebody calls you. I said no, I am calling you, and I would like an appointment. I understand you're backed up, but I have the approval and would like to make an appointment. I was denied the appointment! I did their work for them and they said no! What kind of garbage is that? Lol So I'll be calling Tricare tomorrow to request a different provider. Looks like we might have to drive, but oh well. It's not like we're not used to that!

Oh, and if you like free stuff make sure you're following me on http://peaofsweetness.com I'm doing giveaways all month (and probably beyond!) :)

One evaluation down

Well, we had B's Speech Evaluation yesterday. We were hoping we would be able to start getting more therapy - speech and OT now that we've moved somewhere else. Well, after his speech evaluation it was decided he doesn't qualify for Speech Therapy. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I mean part of me wants to say "that's great because it means he's made enough progress to where they feel he no longer requires Speech Therapy," but part of me wants to say "how is that possible?". As for the OT part he has never been in OT, and I'm really hoping this time it will be different, but I'm questioning that as well because according to the letters we received concerning the referrals it looks like his PCM didn't even put in a referral for OT. Both of the letters for B said he was approved for a Speech evaluation and therapy (if needed). So, I'm going to have to call and get that straightened out I suppose. So, as of now, though, that is where we stand in that regard!

The princess has gotten a referral to Developmental Pediatrics for the evaluation in regards to sensory concerns. I was told we could either get referred to San Antonio or maybe even Dallas - or if we're REALLY lucky we might get referred to Scott and White (in regards to location - not profession because the Developmental Pediatricians in San Antonio were highly recommended by their PCM). Well, I guess we're really lucky in the regards to location then because we received a letter for the referral to Scott and White in Temple. It was quick, too! We were told sometimes that type of referral won't be put in and approved for up to 2 weeks, and we got it the following week. So, now I just need to call and make the appointment. How long it will take to actually be seen will be determined then I suppose!

Our next evaluation is coming up Thursday for the mooselion with Early Childhood Intervention. The initial evaluation will be for speech, and we'll go from there. (We have sensory concerns with him as well.) He has been trying to use his words a lot more as of the last couple of weeks, though, so that is reassuring, but I don't think a little push will hurt anything! His favorite words now are "up" and "milk" (along with the sign that he never wanted to do before! haha). The two tend to go together because he's usually saying he wants up to nurse. haha He has also started a new routine of giving me a kiss and muttering a couple syllables that I'd like to think are his way of saying "I love you" when he gets off my lap or leaves from beside me or whatever. It's so cute!

My husband "passed" his psych evaluation (if that's how to correctly say it) as far as the Bipolar Disorder is concerned I guess. That's the only thing I know really is that his written test was "normal." So that's good! Chemotherapy can affect a lot - including the nerve pulses in the brain in regards to mood/emotions, etc. So I'm glad it's not something more complex that requires more in-depth treatment.

I have my evaluations later this month.

And that's about it. "Bob" has been doing a few more things around the house, but again, it's nothing threatening or scary though in general can be a little creepy. Then again, "Bob" could be totally in our heads. Who knows? One thing that "Bob" is not doing is these major issues we're having with our technology. I got this wonderful new iMac, and it's beautiful. The first one I got lasted 3 weeks before mooselion smashed it on this lovely linoleum flooring in this old house. They replaced it, though! Phew!! I actually got the upgraded version, but it seems to run a little slower than the lower grade version. Not quite sure what's going on there. I mean I'm new to MACs, though, and it obviously runs better than my old PC, but I guess not as "good" as I expected. The graphics are GORGEOUS, though! The internet is my biggest issue - especially because I use it for so much - particularly business as well. It's driving me CRAZY! I don't think it's the computer, though. I think it's the actual internet. I think the router is terrible. I can't tell for sure, though, but whatever it is, is frustrating. And don't get me started on printer issues! UGH!! We now have THREE printers because we bought one new one after one of ours wasn't working properly, and this new one doesn't work either! It worked once with my computer and once with my husband's computer (thankfully it was enough to get my 500 expo postcards printed), and now it won't work with either of them! HP support even went in to my husband's computer and reset everything, and it still doesn't work. Junk! Now our all-in-one with fax is acting up as well! So printing just isn't happening right now, and it's super frustrating! Ah, the joys of technological issues! I seriously get frustrated easily, though, so I'm sure some people that would read this would just laugh at how frustrated I sound! LOL Now I'm going to try to sleep because the past 2 hours have been a waste. I was trying to find an address with no luck, and I was trying to print a postage label for an address I did have and the printer failed. Mooselion is still awake anyway. We've been trying to blame it on  his naps, but he didn't nap today for more than 30min, so THAT obviously isn't the issue! I think he's finally ready to sleep, though, and I'm beyond ready to sleep! Definitely a typical day/night around here!
